In A Nutshell
As a Software Engineer within the Billing Tribe, you will report to the Engineering Manager, and be responsible for working together to write clean code and deliver optimal outcomes. As part of the squad be responsible for contributing towards the designing and implementing solutions for a product line. You will be demonstrating your knowledge and practical experience, following coding standards and contributing to daily scrums, sprint reviews, retrospectives and refinements.
The level 1 Software Engineer is a strong team player who can produce high quality software with good test coverage, is able to learn and apply design patterns, and demonstrates understanding of SOLID Principles.
Responsibilities
1. Working with the Technical Lead you will review and refine your deliverables to provide confidence in the technical delivery of functionality.
2. Working with squad members in pair programming or solo to write the software or configure the service that is being delivered in this initiative.
3. Working with the Agile Enablement team to adopt tools and methodologies to delivery high quality software.
4. Contributing to the appropriate guild where time might be saved, outcomes improved with the aim of shaping best practice.
5. Learning and developing area of knowledge and domain expertise within the engineering function.
6. Proactively contributing to and suggest ways of improving engineering processes at ENSEK.
7. Promoting and maintaining a positive ‘can do’ attitude, building collaborative working relationships with the whole engineering squad and sharing skills and knowledge.
8. Adding value to the experience of our clients, colleagues and other relevant stakeholders through practicing and promoting the ENSEK values.

1. Good problem-solving and analytical skills with an eye for detail
2. Strong verbal and written communications skills
3. Values the importance of teamwork and experience of working as part of a remote, multi-disciplined team is advantageous
4. Enthusiastic and passionate about testing and software discipline
5. Detail orientated with a strict adherence to policies and governance which are applicable to the role
6. Experience/knowledge of C#, SQL and Javascript
7. An interest in cloud-based technologies with experience in AWS being advantageous
8. Degree in Computer Science would be advantageous but not essential or equivalent work experience
9. Experience of working in an agile environment and from within the Energy/Utilities would be advantageous but not essential
