Internal Communications and ESG Coordinator

In A Nutshell

Reporting to the Head of People, the Internal Communications and Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) Coordinator plays a critical role in managing the creation and implementation of a variety of different communication activities and programmes which help align ENSEK’S goals with the engagement of its employees.  The role also  facilitate a range of sustainability-focused initiatives in line with the company’s ESG goals.

Responsibilities

  1. To ensure that you keep up to date with business changes and develop internal messages which can be delivered to employees using a variety of communication channels and materials whilst maintaining consistency and alignment of branding
  2. Manage and update the company intranet at regular intervals whilst making sure all details are accurate upon business changes
  3. Deliver key internal messaging which considers our priorities, multi-channel delivery methods, timing and avoids overlapping of competing messages and measure engagement on the communication methods
  4. To compile all ESG metrics and ensure these are shared and cascaded both internally and, where appropriate, externally
  5. To work with the ESG Steering Group and ESG working groups to create regular content covering ENSEK’s ESG strategy, initiatives and performance to be shared internally and externally
  6. To coordinate and monitor the activities of partner organisations and work collaboratively to identify opportunities to engage employees as part of ESG initiatives
  7. To develop joint communication plans with partner organisations to drive support and engagement on key initiatives
  8. To proactively work with internal stakeholders such as Exec, Management, Compliance, People, Marketing, Engineering and Product to influence, manage and align delivery and content of communications
  9. To develop and implement creative, audience-specific communications in a hybrid working environment
  10. To create regular engaging and relevant content, using various media to maintain our internal communication channels including materials for the intranet, webinars and blogs
  11. To work in partnership with internal stakeholders to create records of communications and align internal and external messages
  12. To prepare internal written communications, presentations and briefing documents
  13. To monitor and measure levels of employee satisfaction and engagement with internal communications and implement new and creative methods

Key Skills

  1. A background in internal communications or ESG Coordination in a growing SME is essential
  2. A working knowledge of ESG risks and issues and best practice
  3. Interest and experience in supporting ESG initiatives
  4. Experience of collating ESG-related data and communicating this in an easy to digest way
  5. Experience in a fast-paced technology company would be desirable
  6. A track record in developing coherent, well thought through and strategically aligned internal communications & engagement plans
  7. Experience of using design and video editing software is advantageous
  8. Experience of managing internal intranet sites and external website content
  9. Experience and knowledge of the latest digital and social media channels, how to use and analyse them
  10. Some knowledge of the energy market is desirable but not essential
  11. Keeping abreast of latest employee engagement and internal communication methods
  12. A positive, can-do attitude with the ability to build effective relationships and networks through collaboration with internal stakeholders is essential.
  13. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential, with the ability to respect and manage confidential and sensitive information
  14. Interest in ESG initiatives
